President & General Manager, Global Wireline Business Unit

Michael Fitz is President and General Manager of the Global Wireline Business Unit for Sprint. In this role, Mr. Fitz is responsible for strategy, sales, engineering, marketing, product development, and operations of Sprint’s multi-billion dollar global wireline business. The wireline business includes global telecommunications services ranging from connectivity solutions (IP/MPLS, security, and managed solutions) to unified communications and Sprint’s award winning Workplace as a Service. Sprint wireline services are available in over 150 countries. Sprint services 90% of the Fortune 500, enables thousands of small and medium business, and provides wholesale services to resellers.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Fitz was responsible for strategy, planning, and sales engineering for Sprint’s Enterprise Solutions business unit.   This included marketing and product management of business products ranging from wireline and cloud to M2M, and managing Sprint’s nationwide team of sales engineers responsible for selling, designing, and implementing solutions across the entire wireless, wireline, cloud, and M2M portfolio. Mr. Fitz also oversaw Sprint’s Emergency Response Team and In-Building Wireless Solutions teams.

Mr. Fitz has 20 years of experience with Sprint, including various customer service and product management roles. He has been awarded several Sprint annual executive leadership awards including both 2012 and 2014, and has received several industry awards including being named Fierce Telecom’s “2013 Rising Star of Wireline”. Prior to joining Sprint, Mr. Fitz worked at GE in various network and marketing roles.

Mr. Fitz was awarded his MBA from the University of Maryland and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University. Mr. Fitz serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for National Safe Place, a nationwide non-profit providing services for runaway and homeless youth. He and his family reside in Leesburg, Virginia.
