One of the most exciting areas to emerge recently in the category of Advanced Security Analytics (ASA) is that of User Behavioral Analytics (UBA). UBA tools provide two primary functions: First, they determine a typical baseline of activities for an organization. This baseline is specific to the users and groups of users within that organization, and is characterized by a pattern of resource access. Second, they quickly identify deviations from this normal baseline. These deviations may signify a breach or attack in progress, or may be benign.
